COTEHELE AND TAVISTOCK

SATURday 17TH FEBRUARY 2024

The house was aquired by William Edgecombe through his marriage to Hilda, heiress of Cotehele. The house is one of the least altered Tudour houses in the United Kingdom. The out buildings include a stone dovecote in a remarkable state of preservation. The grounds stretch down to a quay on the River Tamar. There are a number of formal gardens and a richly planted area in the valley. Later we make our way into Tavistock for free time before returning home.
